1 Swiss Muslin
Woven in Switzerland on hand looms, and ornamented with small spots or sprigs of many colours. In Scotland and Bolton a fine lappet cloth is made to imitate this fabric, and usually 50-in. by 60 yards split, 120 ends and 80 picks per inch, 80's warp, 60's weft, both Egyptian cotton with 3/40's lappet yarn. The figures are small. -

3 Swiss Applique
A very light plain muslin fabric made from yarns about 100's to 120's and 80 ends and 80 picks per inch and finer. The cloth is ornamented by small spots in relief fixed on the face. The spots consist of cotton fibres or a paste and are fixed so securely that the cloth might tear in removing a spot. -
4 Swiss Cambric
A plain cotton cloth 32-in. to 36-in. wide woven from good quality cotton yarns. It is embroidered or ornamented by lappet or swivel figuring. The finish is stiff and with no lustre. It is a fine muslin fabric and formerly was always white. -

Very fine muslin, plain weave, made about 96 ends and 112 picks per inch, 90's warp, 110's weft, all cotton yarns. -
6 Dotted Swiss
A plain-weave soft cotton muslin, made with dot patterns from heavy cotton yarn on swivel looms. Used for curtains, summer dresses, etc. One quality has 82 ends and 82 picks per inch, 52's T., 52's W., and 2/16's figuring yarn. It is also made in a lappet loom. -

A Swiss muslin fabric woven from bleached yams with an openwork design formed by empty dents in the reed. Sometimes figured or ornamented by colour yarns. Largely shipped to the Philippines in 21-in. to 41-in. widths in light weights, such as 72 x 68 per inch, 90's/80's, all Egyptian yarns. -

A Swiss-finished light muslin of a weight greater than ordinary mulls. It is really a heavy mull. One cloth is woven 58 X 60 per inch, 42's/50's Sakel yarns.
